Today, ELISABETH TESCIONE assumed the post of Vice President, Associate Media Director at BBDO South. She was formerly a VP AMD at Fitzgerald + CO in Atlanta, on AFLAC, Durex Condoms, Georgia-Pacific and Tennesee Valley Authority. She was a 1999 Cannes Media Lion Award winner - an honor she won with colleague Nik Mainthia, former Senior Vice President, Media Director at Fitzgerald + CO, for their work on AFLAC. Elisabeth was with Fitzgerald/McCann Erickson for five years, having moved into the position from Price McNab.

GERALD MITCHELL, Executive Vice President at Right Start Inc. has been named among the "100 Best Minds in Marketing Today" by Advertising Age. Mitchell was selected because the specialty retailer of child developmental, educational and care products was a brand that "broke through" in 1999, according to the publication.

DAVID TANZER, President and CEO of Primedia Consumer Magazines has resigned from his position. STEVE ASTER has been promoted to Executive VP, consumer Marketing, and will oversee the consumer marketing and run one of the largest circulation departments in magazine publishing.
GREGORY AARONS has joined Tucson Newspapers as Director of Display Advertising. He will oversee all national and retail advertising for Tucson's Newspapers, the Arizona Daily Star and Tucson Citizen. Aarons comes to Tucson from the San Jose Mercury News, where he served as Retail Advertising Manager.
PETER MARTIN has been promoted to VP, Marketing at Welch's. Martin will be responsible for all aspects of Welch's domestic marketing programs including advertising, corporate communications and marketing research. Martin previously served as Welch's Product Marketing VP.
SCOTT FILIPPS has been appointed to the position of General Sales Manager for Clear Blue Media's San Francisco office. Filipps, with more than 20 years of interactive and traditional sales management experience, will manage a staff of four account executives.
ERIC SCHEIRER, analyst, has joined the Media & Entertainment research team at Forrester Research, Inc. Scheirer joins Forrester from the MIT Media Laboratory, where he received his Ph.D. researching computer music, machine listening, and audio compression. Scheirer has been very active in the music industry as an independent analyst and consultant.
